A 13 year old Griffin resident was struck by a vehicle on Highway 155 near Jackson Road School about 9:30 Wednesday night. The 13 year old was immediately transported to Spalding Regional due her severe injuries. The child passed away a short time later. Units of the Spalding County Sheriffs Department, Spalding Fire Department, and Spalding Regional EMS responded to the scene. The vehicle that stuck the child stopped at the scene and the accident remains under investigation by the Spalding Sheriffs Department. More information is expected to be released later.
