An investigation is continuing at the location on Buck Creek and Chappell Mill Roads close to the county line. Excavating of two wells for a missing person or persons.
“Sheriff Darrel Dix advised WKEU news that the investigation is not related to a missing person in Lamar County. This one does go back to the 1980’s and could involve up to three individuals.
The search is on property at 1075 Buck Creek Road and an adjacent lot, said the Sheriff. The house located on the property is not occupied said the Sheriff.
Excavation equipment, was moved on the scene with and heavier equipment moved in last week
“We have lowered firefighters down in one of the wells, but they can’t stay long due to limited oxygen supply.
The investigation is continuing at this time by my Investigators and GBI said Sheriff Dix.
