In Pike County work on the Williamson – Zebulon road will begin in October and waring signs notifying area residents of the construction are inp0lace. Blount Construction recently notified the county that Oct. 5 will be the tentative start date for construction on Williamson-Zebulon Road, weather permitting.
County Manager John Hanson said “Advertising construction alerts with digital signage has started to notify the public of the start date, and traffic delays that are expected. He also said the signage will be used throughout the project. Ttraffic on Williamson- Zebulon road will be restricted for local traffic and residents only.”
Digital signs will be placed on Williamson- Zebulon Road at the Reidsboro Road intersection and the County Farm Road intersection.
The detours will be through Reidsboro Road to Zebulon-Hollonville Road to Highway 18 for Southbound traffic. North bound traffic will use County Farm Road to Highway 18 to Zebulon-Hollonville Road to Reidsboro Road.
“There will be extensive construction work and the public should expect long delays on this route. This project will take approximately two and a half weeks. County Manager Hanson said that the project has been projected for the week that school is out – Oct 12-16 – in effort to lessen the pressure on local traffic for at least 5 days of the project.”
