Thursday evening Units of the Spalding Sheriffs Department, Spalding Regional EMS, Spalding Fire Department and Emory Air Flight based at the Griffin Spalding Airport responded to a one vehicle accident at Rover Zetella Road. Upon arriving at the scene Deputies found that a female driver lost control of her vehicle ran off the road way, and hit a power pole. The impact was so hard that it knocked down the power pole. Witnesses at the scene pulled the driver from the vehicle. Spalding Regional arrived at the scene and determined that the drivers injuries were severe enough for her to be transported by Helicopter Air Ambulance to the Atlanta Medical Center. A landing zone was established nearby and Emory Air Flight transported the driver to the Atlanta Medical Center for further treatment. The incident remains under investigation.
