A Spalding County man identified as Larry English age 70 of Buck Snort Road, Griffin was killed Monday morning when his motorcycle hit a pickup truck on Hwy. 41 in Milner at the Zebulon Road intersection.
Mr. English was traveling was northbound on the four-lane 341 bypass on a Kawasaki Vulcan when a Ford F-150 pickup westbound on Zebulon Road apparently pulled in front of him. According to a witness Mr. English had only a split second to react and could not avoid the truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lamar County Coroner Jim smith.
Units of the Lamar Sheriffs Department, and Troopers form the Forsyth Post of the Georgia State Patrol responded to the scene. The investigation is being conducted by the Forsyth Post of the Georgia State Patrol. .
The pickup truck was loaded with the luggage of students from Pike County Middle School who were on their way to FFA camp on Jackson Lake. One witness said It appeared that stacked luggage may have inhibited the vision of the female driving the truck.
The middle school students did not witness the wreck. Another car full of luggage was also in the entourage. The female driver of that car was an eyewitness to the crash.
The accident occurred at 10:25 a.m.Monday morning.

Funeral Arrangements for Mr. English will be conducted by Conner Westbury Funeral Home of Griffin.
