A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon about 4:30 when a man in an SUV pulled out in front of motorcycle at the intersection of High Falls and Chappell Mill roads near the Lamar-Butts line.
The male driving the motorcycle was stabilized at the scene by a doctor who happened upon the scene and EMTS. The man identified as Christopher Jones, age 44, a science teacher at Pike County High School He was air lifted by Emory Air flight based at the Griffin Spalding Airport to the Atlanta Medical Center. His condition was reported as serious on Monday morning. The accident occurred at about 4:30 p.m.
The SUV driver was identified as 68-year-old Dexter Stanphill of Fayetteville.
