Sheriff Wendell Beam has advised WKEU news that a six month investigation into the possession and sale of illegal drugs concluded on January 26, 2015 with the arrests of three people. The investigation was conducted by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, the Griffin Police Department Narcotics Unit, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

At approximately 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 Christopher Dayne Bailey, age 36, of 2464 Steele Road, Griffin, was arrested and charged with 4 ounces of methamphetamine and a quantity of Oxycodone pills. A search warrant was executed at his residence. kDuring a search of his residence 27 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of marijuana, and a quantity of Xanax pills were located. Bailey’s fiancée, Heather Nicole Smith, age 29, also of 2464 Steele Road, Griffin, Georgia, was also arrested.

Following the execution of the search warrant on Steele Road, a search warrant was executed at 110 Antebellum Way in Fayetteville, Georgia. At this location 5 ounces of methamphetamine, an assault rifle and 3 other firearms, and $35,000.00 in cash were seized.
As a result of the investigation the following people were arrested:
Christopher Dayne Bailey, age 36, of 2464 Steele Road, Griffin, Georgia charged with;
1. Trafficking methamphetamine
2. Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute (2 counts)
3. Possession of methamphetamine (2 counts)
4. Felony possession of marijuana
5. Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
Heather Nicole Smith, age 29, of 2464 Steele Road, Griffin, Georgia charged with;
1. Party to the crime of trafficking methamphetamine
2. Party to the crime of possession of methamphetamine
3. Possession of Alprazolam
4. Possession of marijuana
5. Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
6. Possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute
7. Felony tampering with evidence
Shawn Perkins aka Shawn Gregory, age 33, of 110 Antebellum Way, Fayetteville, Georgia charged with;
1. Trafficking in methamphetamine
2. Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
3. Violation of parole
Christopher Dayne Bailey and Heather Nicole Smith are being held in the Spalding County Jail without bond.
Shawn Christopher Perkins aka Shawn Gregory, is being held in the Fayette County Jail without bond.
