A massive accident at the 207 mile marker in Spalding County took the life of a wood stock woman identified as Kathy Jean Owens age 43 of Woodstock, Georgia..
The accident occurred about Noon Monday. December 8 th. A Spalding County Deputy was in the South bound lane assisting a motorist and saw the accident. Witnesses said that the vehicle struck the back of a stopped 18 wheeler flat bed truck in the Emergency Lane of the North Bound Lanes of I-75 closer to mile marker 207. The impact caused the vehicle to immediately burst into flames. The entire vehicle was destroyed as well as the trailer of the 18 wheeler.
The accident is under investigation of the Griffin Post of the Georgia Sate Patrol, also responding were Spalding Coroner Sonny Foster, units of the Spalding Sheriffs Department, Spalding Fire Department, and Spalding Regional EMS.
