SPALDNG COMMISSIONERS MEETING
During the meeting Carrie Zeiger, retiring Executive Director of the Flint River Regional Library System to introduce Natalie Marshall as Flint River Regional Library System Executive Director effective January 1, 2015.
The Commissioners will recognize the Spalding County Employees who completed the 2014 Griffin Leadership Development Institute.
The Commissioners will also recognize the Spalding County Fire Department individuals who have completed the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Program hosted by the Spalding County Office of Homeland Security.
The Commissioners will also recognize the Spalding County Parks & Recreation Department as 2014 State Agency of the Year serving
population 50,001-80,000 as designated by the Georgia Recreation & Park Association.
The Commissioners will also consider on second reading an Ordinance amending the Spalding County Code of Ordinances in relation to Animal Control, for the Maximum number of dogs and cats allowed without a kennel license.
Consider approval on second reading an Ordinance amending the FY 2015 Budget Ordinance to provide for receipt of lease purchase proceeds.
They will also consider approval on second reading an application of Cecil O. and Dot S. McAdams, Owners of 1649 Carver Road (3.03 acres requesting a rezoning
from R-1, Single Family Residential Low Density, to AR-1, Agricultural and Residential.
The Commissioners will consider approval on second reading an Application of Dorothy S. McAdams, Trustee of the Dorothy S. McAdams Revocable Trust, Owner of 1663 Carver Road 2.06 acres requesting a rezoning from R-1, Single Family Residential Low Density, to AR-1,Agricultural and Residential.
The Commissioners will consider approval on second reading Application of Dorothy S. McAdams, Trustee of the Dorothy S. McAdams Revocable Trust, Owner of 1725 Carver Road 86.532 acres requesting a rezoning from R-1, Single Family Residential Low Density, to AR-1, Agricultural and Residential.
Consider approval on second reading Application of Ed Jr. and Maria Johnson, Owners – 600 Hamil Road 40.87 acres requesting a rezoning from R-2, Single Family Residential, to AR-1, Agricultural and Residential.
Consider approval on second reading an application of Ed and Maria Johnson, Owners – Hamil Road 2.212 acres requesting a rezoning from R-2, Single Family Residential, to AR-1, Agricultural and Residential.
Consider approval on second reading Amendment to UDO of Appendix A. Subdivision Ordinance to amend review of construction plans
The Commissioners will also consider a recommendation from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee approving the use of Personal Trainers with approved background checks and current fitness certificates at $75 per month at County parks.
The Commissioners will consider approval of the purchase of three tablets and cases for use by the Spalding County Board of Assessors from the Commissioner’s Contingency Fund.
Consider eliminating the Tobacco Surcharge for County Employees scheduled to go into effect on January 1. 2015.
The Commissioners will also consider a request from Mobley Construction for refund of 2009, 2010, and 2011 taxes on the Green space at The Meadows Subdivision and Walkers Mill Estates Subdivision.

Consider an appointment to McIntosh Trail Community Services Board to fill the unexpired term of Megan Oliver which expires December 31, 2016.
Consider reappointment of Theresa Buchanan to the Spalding County Board of Family and Children Services for a five year term ending June 30, 2019. Mrs. Buchanan has expressed her willingness to serve another term.
Consider approval of amendment relating to no through trucks on streets, by deleting paragraph (63) – Vaughn Road from Georgia Highway 16 to Georgia
Highway 92 – in its entirety.
Consider approval of request from the Spalding County Fire Department to apply for the F Y 2015 Assistance to Fire Fighter Grant.
Consider authorizing the Spalding County Fire Department to apply for a Georgia Power Grant to acquire a fire extinguisher training system.
Consider approval on first reading of an amendment to the Spalding County Code of Ordinances Division for Minimum Housing Code Enforcement.
Consider approval of the 2015 Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant request.
Consider rejecting all bids received for Managed IT Services RFP issued received to date.
