WSB-TV in Atlanta, reported on Tuesday , “The Secretary of State’s office says the Problem with the Spalding County voting system was down, following human error, on Tuesday that caused major problems at polling places across Spalding County, many precincts were dealing with issues.” According to the Secretary of States Office: “The issue occurred when workers incorrectly loaded information onto the poll pads Tuesday morning so none of the machines were working.”
WSB-TV indicated that poll workers are trained on how to fix this specific issue, according to the Georgia secretary of state’s office.
Spalding County Elections Supervisor Marcia Ridley assured voters that they will be able to cast their ballots, according to Chanel 2 news. But the system was delayed until 9 AM Tuesday Morning. which resulted in a order to remain open until 9 pm Tuesday evening before votes could be reported. Many precincts were using paper ballots while the 7AM issue was resolved.
