TREES FELL ON SEVERAL CARS AS STORMS TRAVELED NORTH EAST
As the tropical storm Zeta moved North East and into Georgia there was a report of one person killed Thursday morning when a tree fell on a mobile home in Cherokee County as Tropical Storm Zeta moved through north Georgia. The incident occurred in a mobile home park off Bells Ferry Road in Cherokee County.
In Spalding County and the Griffin area about 4:30 the winds downed trees across power lines taking down lines and breaking power poles in several location in the County and City. More than 30 incidents were called to 911 dispatch of downed power lines in the City and County. Heavy rains and winds struck areas that included Maple drive where a large tree took down power lines at the Intersection or Crescent road, and Kincaid roads. In addition the winds downed and broke power poles and lines at Dauset Drive and Wesley Drive Intersection. Power was restored to most of South Griffin by about 10:45 Thursday Morning.
As the Storms from Hurricane Zeta moved into South Carolina about 5:00 am where three individuals were reported killed there. Also an estimate from one report that millions were without power in the path of Tropical Storm Zeta.
In Spalding County a tree fell on a vehicle at Rover Zetella road. When Sheriffs and Fire personnel arrived at the scene all occupants were out of the vehicle.
