At approximately 8:30 pm Sunday evening, October 11, 2020, Monroe County Deputies working on I-75 southbound attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle traveling 92 mph in a 70 mph zone. The driver of the motorcycle did not stop and fled from Deputies.
The chase continued traveling I-75 southbound where the driver of the motorcycle lost control in the curve, south of the Rumble Road exit, hitting the guardrail on the left side of the interstate ejecting him from the motorcycle.
Monroe County EMS responded to the scene where the driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased on arrival.
Georgia State Patrol is currently working the fatality. Any further questions regarding the fatality should be directed to them at this time.
