About 12:45 PM Sunday Morning units of the Griffin Fire Rescue, and Griffin Police Department Patrol units were called to a fire behind Long John Silver’s restaurant to a woods fire. 911 dispatch said that a passerby saw flames and smoke in the area.
When fire fighters arrived on the scene they set up close to Long John Silvers at a fire hydrant and ran a water line into the wooded area to support pumper truck, behind the old Ink Wizard lot adjacent to the restaurant.
The fire was out by about 11:25. Fire Department personnel indicated they found evidence in the wooded area of a possible camp site.
There were no injuries from the incident.
