Units of the Spalding Fire Department were extremely busy on Wednesday with two different large brush and control burn fires and brush fires that got out of control one at Hollonville road, one in the Pomona area, both of which had gotten out of control and were threatening larger areas, homes. and farm equipment. Additional Fire units at the Pomona location were sent to assist in the larger woods fire at Hollonville. Spalding fire units were on the scene for several hours fighting the blaze.
Additionally Chief Jamie Clark said that units also responded to Charlotte circle to a house fire that severely damaged the interior of a home burning furniture and heavy smoke damage.
