A two vehicle accident on the north expressway close to school road resulted in one individual being killed and two others severely injured late Friday afternoon.
Spalding Fire Chief Jamie Clark said that life Flight Helicopter Air Ambulance as unable to fly due to inclement weather. One of the injured was sent by ground ambulance to the Atlanta Medical Center and the other to Spalding Regional. Chief Jamie Clark said that the call came in about 5:50 on Friday afternoon.
Units responding to the accident included The Spalding Fire Deportment, Sapling Sheriffs Department, Spangling Regional EMS, Spalding County Coroner Sonny Foster, and Troopers from the Griffin Post of the Georgia State Patrol who are investigating the accident.
More information is expected to be released later following notification of next of kin said Coroner Foster.
The South bound lanes of Highway 1941 was closed for about 3 hours during the investigation.
