BUTTS COUNY SHERIFF GARY LONG
On Friday Morning September 21st units of the Butts County Sheriff’s Department were called to Kennedy Road close to Jackson Glenn Subdivision, just off Highway 36 near the I-75 exit to the scene of a body that was found face down adjacent to the roadway. Butts County Sheriff Gary Long advised WKEU news that his deputies and investigators responded to the scene and located the body a white male that had been shot multiple times in the back and head area.
Sheriff Long also said that the GBI Crime scene unit has been called to assist his department with the Investigation along with GBI agents.
The Sheriff said that he feels the incident has no relation to any one in Butts County or the area, but may have started in Bartow County in Cartersville. Every resource of his department and the GBI are working the case and he is in contact with the Bartow County Sheriff’s Department as well.
The investigation is continuing and more information will be released as the investigation continues.
