County Manager William Wilson has issued a press release announcing Spalding County Fire Chief Kenny West submitted his notice of retirement last
week.
The Press Release stated The Spalding County Board of Commissioners and Staff wish to thank him for his many years of service to the County and its citizens and for his dedication to the improvement of the Fire Department and its operations.
The County will begin the process of transition to a new Fire Chief in the most
expeditious manner as Wednesday March 21, 2018 is Chief West’s final work day with Spalding County.
Spalding County has already begun the initial processes necessary recruitment of a new Fire Chief and will be advertising for the position in the upcoming months with the hope of appointing a new Chief in the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2019.
During the interim, Deputy Chief Jamie Clark and Deputy Chief Glenn Polk will continue to provide leadership and oversee daily operations of the department with full support and confidence of the Board of Commissioners and Spalding County Administration.
