The Black Cat Hunt Was Held Thursday Night. Thank you Griffin!

The annual Black Cat Hunt was held Thursday night over WKEU AM 1450 and 102.3 FM. The hunt was hosted by WKEU’s Tony Broski and Ted Taylor. WKEU broadcasted from First National Bank main branch located at 318 South Hill Street in downtown Griffin. The hunt kicked off with the first clue for Cat number 1 at 7:30. Cat number 1 was found by Adam Duncan and family at the old now defunct Holiday Inn on the North Expressway. The clue for Cat number 1 was as the holidays approach, there’ll be no rooms availabe at the inn. So here’s what you should do if you truly want to win. With your mode of transportation, it’s your way, you’ll have to make. Just south and west of the spot you’ll find an awful lot at stake.

Cat number 2 clue was although still small, this kitty likes to think she’s big game. Her place of learning and the street both share a name. To put this cat and her treasure trove in your take home bag. Know she’s a thousand days and around the corner from being a Jag. Cat number 2 was discovered by Christopher Garner and family. Cat number 2 was found at Futral Road Elementary School.

Cat number 3 was located by Pat Willis and family, who found the cat at the old Spalding County Correctional Institute on Meriwether Street. The clue for Cat number 3 was to find the site where this next black cat might lurk. Think of where people labor for you doing all kinds of hard work. The prize package on this one will prove to be quite a bounty. Look outside the city and concentrate on the county. If you capture kitty by the tail, your final destination tonight might well be jail.

Black Cat number 4 clue was this cat’s been naughty. It clawed right through the screen. To stay out of trouble it’s hiding deep within the green. If you find itin the brush, you’re sure to be feeling groovy. Half a century ago you’d have found him watching a movie. Cat number 4 was located at the Imperial Theater on Solomon Street downtown. The cat was found by Shelli Sanford and friends.

Black Cat number 5 clue was Halloween is a night filled with frights and thrills and chills. This adventure will take you through some pines and over some hills. Success during the Black Cat Hunt will put you in an exclusive club. Joining the pool of past winners isn’t easy, and therein lies the rub. The Cat was located at the Country Club and was discovered by Saronda Phillips and family.

Black Cat number 6 clue was We’re the stick in this equation, the prizes are your carrot. If you bring it back to us, you deserve a badge of merit. If you’re hunting with a troop, the prizes will have to be shared. Now that girls can be eagles too, for that you must be prepared. Cat number 6 was located at the Boy Scouts main office on Zebulon Road. The Cat was found by Ronnie Swain and friends.
