According to the recent rate survey compiled by the Georgia Public Service Commission the Central Georgia EMC is the lowest-cost provider in Georgia at the 1,500- and 2,000-kilowatt-hour level.
“This is the third year in a row that the Jackson based EMC has ranked as one of the lowest cost provider in the Georgia Public Service Commission Winter Residential Rate Survey,” stated President George L. Weaver. “The board, staff, and employees work hard to keep rates low by making solid decisions on diversifying our energy mix.”
CGEMC rates are based on the cost of wholesale power, plus the cost to administer and deliver the energy to the customer. Wholesale cost of power is the single largest component of CGEMC’s operating expense.
