As reported live by WKEU news on Tuesday night about 8:00 pm, units of the Spalding Sheriffs Department, Spalding Fire Department, Spalding Regional EMS, and Emory Air Flight responded to a thee vehicle collision on the North Expressway near the intersection of Vineyard Road. Initial reports indicated that a female was trapped inside one of the vehicles. Spalding Fire Department units were able to extricate the female upon arrival.
All vehicle traffic was stopped on the South bound lanes of Traffic. The decision was made to call in Emory Helicopter Air Ambulance based at the Griffin Spalding Airport, and a landing zone was established in the South bound lanes of the North Expressway to transport the female who was unconscious but breathing to the Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.
Emergency units were on the scene for about an hour until the initial investigation of the scene was complete and traffic flow restored to the area.
